Content for AI search: how DIAP Media writes pages an AI engine can quote
Content used to be judged by where it ranked. It is now also judged by whether an AI engine lifts a passage from it. DIAP Media writes service pages, region pages, research records and explainers to do both, inside its SEO and AI search plans.

How a quotable page is built
These are the rules this site is written to. Every page on diapmedia.com rebuilt in October 2026 follows them.
The answer comes first
Each section opens with a sentence that answers its heading in full. Background follows for the reader who wants it.
One question per section
A heading asks or names one thing. An engine can lift the section without needing the paragraphs around it.
A figure, a date or a price in the answer
On 11 October 2026 an AI Overview DIAP Media checked quoted prices and timelines from pages that state them. Prices on this site are stated to the dollar.
A source for every fact
Each figure links to the page it came from and says when it was read. A claim with no source is cut.
A named author and a date
Every page says who wrote it and when it was updated. The date changes only when the content does.
Nothing trapped in an image
Prices, names and addresses are text in the page. Facts inside a slider, a graphic or a script may never be read.
What Google says about writing for its AI features
Google published a guide to its generative AI features and updated it in July 2026. Five points from Google’s documentation shape how DIAP Media writes.
| Chunking | Google says there is no requirement to break content into tiny pieces for AI to understand it |
|---|---|
| Eligibility | A page must be indexed and eligible to show in Google Search with a snippet. There are no additional technical requirements |
| Ranking | Google says its generative AI features are rooted in its core Search ranking and quality systems |
| Structured data | Not required for generative AI search. Where it is used, it must match what readers can see on the page |
| llms.txt | Google says Google Search does not use it |

What Google showed for two content searches
Google answered both with an AI Overview. For the first, the top organic result under it was Google’s own guide.
| Search | AI Overview shown | What the page drew on |
|---|---|---|
| “content for ai search” | Yes, with 6 sources. Checked at 19:49 UTC. | YouTube, a training publisher, two software vendors and two agency sites. |
| “how to write content for ai overviews” | Yes, with 9 sources. Checked at 19:49 UTC. | YouTube, a publisher, Reddit, a software vendor and agency sites. |
| “how to write content for ai overviews” | Yes, with 11 sources, on a second look. Checked at 19:51 UTC. | YouTube, Reddit, Quora, software vendors and agency sites. |
One limit to know: AI Overviews appear and disappear from one check to the next, and their sources change each time. Being cited is measured over many runs of the same questions, and nobody can guarantee it. How DIAP Media measures AI search
What DIAP Media writes
Five kinds of page, each with an example on this site.
| Type of page | What it is | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Service page | What a service is, who it is for, what it costs and what it does not do. | AI search services |
| Region or city page | Built from that place’s Census figures, its own official sources and a dated search check. | GEO for Phoenix |
| Research record | What Google showed for a set of searches on a stated day, with the sources it drew on. | AI search for HVAC companies |
| Explainer | Two things that get confused, set side by side. | Local SEO and AI SEO |
| Comparison | The options for one decision, with how each is paid for and where each stops. | Water damage marketing channels |
How the work runs
- A content audit sorts every existing page into keep, rewrite, merge or retire.
- Keyword and question research draws on search data, the questions Google shows, and what the AI engines already answer.
- A content calendar sets what is written each month, at the plan’s pace.
- Each page is written, fact-checked against its sources and published with an author and a date.
- Results are read at 14, 30 and 90 days, and the page is revised only after there is data.
What content cannot do alone
A well-written page is not cited if Google has not indexed it, if a firewall keeps the AI crawlers out, or if nobody else on the web mentions the company.
Content is one of three parts. The other two are technical access and the mentions a brand earns on other sites. DIAP Media checks all three in the free audit before it recommends writing anything. See the crawler checks.
Which DIAP Media brand fits
Content is written inside a plan at every DIAP Media brand. The brand depends on the kind of company.
| If you are | Start with | Link |
|---|---|---|
| An ecommerce, B2B or national brand | DIAP Media | Get a free AI search audit |
| A local business that wants service pages and posts as part of local SEO | Lifted Websites | Content marketing at Lifted Websites |
| A company with several locations | DIAP Media | Franchise and multi-brand AI search |
What content costs
Content is not a separate line on the price sheet. It is written as part of the plan a company is on, at that plan’s monthly pace. National Launch, for example, includes 3 pages of SEO content per month.
| Local SEO | One Google Business Profile and its core service area. AI SEO included. | $800/mo |
|---|---|---|
| Multi-Local Plus | Up to 3 Google Business Profiles plus unlimited location pages, built at the plan’s monthly content pace. Each additional profile is $800/mo. | $2,000/mo |
| National SEO | National Launch $3,000 with 3 pages of SEO content per month. National Growth $5,000 with 6. National Authority $8,000+ with 10 or more. | From $3,000/mo |
| Dedicated GEO Program | Full citation-share tracking, national and ecommerce AI search work, and monthly prompt-probe reporting. | $3,000 to $10,000+/mo |
Content and AI search questions
What content works best in AI search?
Content that answers one question per section, opens with the answer, includes a figure or a date, and names its source. Google says there is no requirement to break content into tiny pieces. Clear, specific, attributable passages are what get lifted.
How do you write content for AI Overviews?
Start from the question people ask. Answer it in the first sentence under the heading. Add the number, the date and the source. Make sure the page is indexed, because Google says a page must be eligible to show in Search before it can support an AI Overview.
Does a page need FAQ schema to appear in AI answers?
No. Google says structured data is not required for generative AI search. FAQ rich results also stopped appearing in Google Search on 7 May 2026. A visible question with a clear answer is still useful, with or without markup.
Is content marketing sold separately?
No. At DIAP Media, content is written as part of an SEO or AI search plan. Local SEO costs $800 per month and national plans start at $3,000 per month with 3 pages of SEO content. Prices are as of October 2026.
How often should a page be updated?
When something on it changes: a price, a figure, a rule or a result. DIAP Media’s rule is a review of every page each quarter, and the date changes only when the content does.
Find out which of your pages an AI engine can quote
The free audit reads your key pages the way an AI engine does and shows which can be quoted, which cannot and why. The scope and the price come back in writing.
