BigCommerce AI SEO: how a BigCommerce store gets into AI answers

A BigCommerce store is not connected to ChatGPT’s product results by default the way a Shopify store is. It gets there through a product feed, and it gets into Google’s AI answers through indexed pages and Merchant Center. DIAP Media does that work on ecommerce plans from $1,700 per month.

The routes into each AI engine

Each engine takes product information from a different place. For a BigCommerce store, most of those places are a feed.

As of October 2026. Shopping in ChatGPT is live in the United States.

What Google showed for two BigCommerce searches

Google’s AI answered both, and for the first it leaned on BigCommerce’s own pages.

What the work covers on BigCommerce

AI SEO for a BigCommerce store is four kinds of work, done in this order.

The feed

One accurate product feed with titles, descriptions, identifiers, price and availability that match the page. It serves Merchant Center first and the AI channels after.

Category pages

The pages that answer a shopper’s category question: what the range is, who it is for and how the options differ, in passages an engine can quote.

Filters and crawl

Deciding which filtered pages stay out of the index, so crawlers spend their time on products and categories.

Proof outside the store

Reviews, comparisons and mentions on the sites each engine already cites for the category, tracked every month.
