What an AI search optimization agency does
An AI search optimization agency makes a company the source that AI engines name when a buyer asks a question. The same work is sold as Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), LLM SEO and AI SEO. At DIAP Media it comes down to five jobs.
| Job | What gets done | Why an AI engine needs it |
|---|---|---|
| Access | Confirm that Googlebot, Bingbot and OpenAI’s search crawler can fetch every page that matters, and that nothing at the host or firewall turns them away. | A page an engine cannot fetch cannot be cited. OpenAI states that a site which opts out of its OAI-SearchBot crawler will not be shown in ChatGPT search answers. |
| Entities | State who the company is the same way everywhere: legal name, brands, founder, address, founding year, and the profiles that confirm them. | Engines resolve a name to one organization before they repeat anything about it. |
| Passages | Rewrite key pages so each answer stands alone, with a number, a date or a price in it. | AI answers are assembled from short passages, not whole pages. |
| Sources | Find the directories, review sites and publications each engine already cites for the topic, and earn a place in them. | An engine is more likely to name a brand that its existing sources also name. |
| Measurement | Track a fixed set of buyer questions each month and record who is cited, next to Search Console clicks and tracked calls and forms. | Without a fixed question set, nobody can say whether citations went up. |

How AI engines tell a parent company from its brands
A company with several brands has a problem a single-brand company does not: an AI engine has to work out which name owns which site before it can cite any of them. DIAP Media has that problem itself.
The estate DIAP Media runs
DIAP Media is the trading name of Digital Internet Advertising Properties, LLC, formed in 2006. It holds over 200 domains and internet brands as of October 2026 and runs ten of them as live sites, including seven agency brands that share one price sheet.
The full list is in the portfolio.
What keeps the names apart
The parent is described once, on its own site, with its legal name and founding year. Each brand has its own site and its own description, and says which company it belongs to.
Shared facts, such as one phone number or one office, are stated openly, so an engine reads them as one company and not as a conflict.
How AI search results are measured
AI search is measured by citations: how often a brand is named for a fixed set of buyer questions, in each engine, month over month. Rankings and clicks still count, and they are reported alongside.
What is reported
- Citations and mentions per engine, for a fixed question set
- Which competitors are cited where the brand is not
- Search Console clicks, impressions and positions
- Calls and form enquiries from call and form tracking
The honest limit
AI answers are not stable. The same question can return an AI Overview one minute and none the next, with a different set of sources each time. DIAP Media saw exactly that on its own tracked terms in October 2026.
That is why results are counted across many runs of the same questions, and why no citation is ever guaranteed.
What AI search optimization costs
AI SEO is included in DIAP Media’s local and national plans. The Dedicated GEO Program is the stand-alone AI search program, for national, ecommerce and multi-brand companies.
| Dedicated GEO Program | Full citation-share tracking, national and ecommerce AI search work, and monthly prompt-probe reporting. Scoped in writing after a free audit and priced to the competition. | $3,000 to $10,000+/mo |
|---|---|---|
| National SEO | National Launch $3,000 with an AI baseline. National Growth $5,000 with full AI optimization for Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini. National Authority $8,000+. | From $3,000/mo |
| Multi-Local Plus | Up to 3 Google Business Profiles plus unlimited location pages, built at the plan’s monthly content pace. AI SEO included. | $2,000/mo |
| Local SEO | One Google Business Profile and its core service area. AI SEO included. | $800/mo |
Who this is for, and who it is not for
This page is for ecommerce, B2B and multi-brand companies that sell across a state or the whole country. A single-location local business does not need the Dedicated GEO Program.
For one location, the $800 Local SEO plan already includes AI SEO, and it is sold with industry and city pages at Lifted Websites, DIAP Media’s local SEO brand. Google also says that no special optimization is required to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode beyond its normal search fundamentals, so a large share of this work is fundamentals done precisely. An agency that promises a secret method is selling something Google says does not exist.
AI search optimization questions
What does an AI search optimization agency do?
An AI search optimization agency works to get a company named and cited in AI answers from Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini. The work covers crawler access, consistent company facts, self-contained passages, the sources each engine already trusts, and monthly citation tracking.
How much does AI search optimization cost?
At DIAP Media, AI SEO is included in the Local SEO plan at $800 per month and in Multi-Local Plus at $2,000 per month. The Dedicated GEO Program costs $3,000 to $10,000+ per month. Prices are as of October 2026.
What is SEO for LLMs called?
SEO for large language models goes by several names: Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), LLM SEO and AI SEO. They describe the same work, which is getting a brand cited inside AI-generated answers.
Is SEO dead now that AI answers questions?
No. Google states that a page must be indexed and eligible to appear in Search with a snippet before it can be shown as a supporting link in AI Overviews or AI Mode. AI search is built on the same pages and the same index, so SEO is the foundation and not the casualty.
Should a company block AI crawlers?
It depends on the crawler. OpenAI runs separate crawlers: OAI-SearchBot decides whether a site can appear in ChatGPT search answers, and GPTBot collects content that may be used for model training. A company can allow the first and block the second in robots.txt.
How long does AI search optimization take?
Most businesses see AI search results in 2 to 4 months. Engines that search the live web, such as Perplexity and ChatGPT Search, can cite new content within weeks, while brand authority typically takes 3 to 6 months to build. These are expectations, not guarantees.
