Antoine Dodson became an internet video sensation after a really bad incident of an intruder attacking his sister. This is the world we live in today. Not only did his local news story get over one million views it was remixed into an auto tune song and has over 8.9 million views already.
I thought this was a great example of how our world is changing so quick right before our eyes and how all of the technology and social platforms are used to make one local incident turn into an internet craze.
I originally found the Auto-Tune remix on the Gregory Brothers YouTube and thought it was a joke at first. Then I noticed there is already a WordPress default theme site up, his WordPress site, Twitter account, Facebook Fan Page, Google Adsense set up and was interviewed on NPR!
If you still think this “internet” thing or “social” media thing is going away think again. It’s only becoming more and more transparent. And the power of video online is become as powerful as TV use to be.
